| The John Deere G was a row-crop tractor produced by Deere & Company in Waterloo, Iowa, USA. It was introduced in 1937 as a general-purpose row-crop tractor, with enough power to manage three plows. The G was equipped with a 6.8 L (412.5 cu·in) two-cylinder all-fuel engine, 6-speed gear transmission, and mechanical expanding shoe brakes. The tractor weighed 5300 lbs and had a rear PTO transmission with a rear RPM of 5402. The John Deere G was produced from 1937 to 1953, with a total of 31,913 units built. There were several variants of the G, including the GN single-front, GW wide-front, and GH high-crop models. |
